ADR Courier And Dangerous Goods Delivery

An ADR courier must comply with the transportation of hazardous goods or hazardous materials as outlined in the current regulations - The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 (CDG 2009).

All vehicles transporting dangerous or hazardous goods must follow guidelines and precautions, and include special documentation.
For general information, Dangerous goods are classified under several Classes. The Classes run from Class 1 to Class 9.
Here are some examples:

Class 1 – is for Explosives: (Which is any chemical compound, mixture or device that is capable of producing an explosive-pyrotechnic effect, with substantial instantaneous release of heat and gas.)
Class 2 – is for Compressed Gases: (Compressed Gases, liquefied or dissolved under pressure.)
Class 3 – is for Flammable Liquids: (Liquids, mixtures of liquids, or liquids containing solids in solution or suspension which give off a flammable vapour.)
Class 8 – covers Corrosives: (Substances which can cause severe damage by chemical action to living tissue, other freight, or the means of transport.)
Class 9 – Miscellaneous: (Substances which present dangers not covered elsewhere.)
